Blood Glucose – fasting – 9:00am – 73, 44th day in a row below 100.

Daily Workout –Shoulders, stationary bike

Drank a pre-workout protein shake; for lunch ate 2 1 1/2 cups of tuna salad and 3 slices plantains; skipped dinner

Ate lunch too late, so I didn’t feel like eating dinner.  Picked up a 7-day cleansing system from my local health food store; I’ll start it tomorrow and give details/results as the week progresses.

Daily Workout –Back, triceps, stationary bike

Drank a pre-workout protein shake; for lunch ate 2 boiled eggs and 3 oz. chicken breast; for dinner ate 1 cup tuna salad over lettuce w/tomato and cucumber, kiwi for dessert.

The pollen is really bothering me today; I cut the lawn yesterday afternoon, and my sinuses have been bothering me since.  I was tired today because of the restless night.  Overall I’m feeling pretty strong.

Fasted today, only had 2 post-workout whey protein shakes.  Feeling pretty strong.

Daily Workout –Shoulders, triceps, stationary bike

Added whey protein shakes today; for lunch ate 1 cup of hogao stew; for dinner ate 3 egg fritata with ham, onions, peppers, mushrooms and olives, along with a 1/2 cup of guacamole.  More calories than usual today, and I’m feeling a little bloated.

Blood Glucose – fasting – 9:00am – 74, 39th day in a row below 100.

Daily Workout –Chest, stationary bike

For lunch ate 1/4 cup almonds and 2 dill pickles; for dinner ate 2 boiled eggs, 1 cup tuna salad over lettuce and a small tomato.

Everything going pretty well, couldn’t do the evening workout, just too tired.

Starting weight, March 7, 2011:  289

After week seven, April 18, 2011: 247, 6 pounds for the week, 42 after 7; WOW, just WOW. :)

After week six, April 18, 2011: 253, 5 pounds for the week, 36 after 6; very pleased and back on track. :)After week five, April 11, 2011: 258, 2 pounds for the week, 31 after 5; can’t express how bummed I am.
After week four, April 4, 2011: 260, 5 pounds for the week, 29 after 4; Still pleased with the progress.
After week three, March 28, 2011: 265, 5 pounds for the week, 24 after 3; I am very pleased. :)
After week two, March 21, 2011:  270, only 4 pounds for the week, but still 19 after two.
After week one, March 14, 2011:  274 A whopping 15 pound loss in the first week! :) :) :)

Everything is going great; I am very pleased with my progress.  The metformin dosage has been cut in half, and the glucose remains under control.  I have lost 42 pounds over 49 days, and with proper rest I feel strong.  My food costs have not increased by switching to better quality foods.  Overall I am very pleased with the decision to adopt this lifestyle. 🙂  Since this is actually the halfway point in the experiment, I expect to post some pictures this week.

Blood Glucose – fasting – 9:00am – 68, 38th day in a row below 100.

Daily Workout –Easter Sunday, no workout

For lunch ate a 8oz. smoked ham, 1/2 cup green beans, 1 1/2 deviled eggs and 3 plantain slices with hogao; for dinner ate 2 oz. ham.

Well week #7 is in the books, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s weigh-in, even though I ate a little much today, I maintained the primal regimen (1st holiday dinner).  I did well at the gym this week, 2-a-days,  I’m feeling pretty strong. The callous is healing nicely.

For lunch ate a few almonds and some roasted garlic cloves; for dinner ate the same.

Feeling tired; I rested all day except for the two visits to the gym.

Daily Workout –Back, stationary bike.

For lunch ate a few almonds, some roasted garlic cloves and 3 slices of pineapple; for dinner ate 8oz. fried chicken over spinach salad.

Blood glucose was at 68 this morning, so I did take 1/2 dose of metformin because I was going to eat today.  I’m pretty amazed that glucose levels didn’t drop lower having started the day at 69 and fasted all day yesterday.  Perhaps my systems are starting to function normally again 🙂
